Kathanayakudu starring Rajanikanth, Jagapathi Babu and Meena a remake of Mammootty's Malayalam movie Katha Parayumbol could not create the same magic in Telugu. Slow narration, weak music and a old fashioned screenplay failed the movie. As Rajanikanth said in the movie 'Janalu Cinema Baguntene Choostaru - e superstar natinchina choodaru' aptly applies to this movie.

Though Rajinikanth's part was good it could not save the movie. P Vasu failed for the second time this year
