kekaDifferent from routine love subjects

Director Teja is known for bringing out typical love subjects on the Telugu screen. Whether it is 'Chitram' or 'Jayam' it has its own speciality. Once again Teja prepared a novel script for his latest flick 'Keka'. The story revolves around three characters — two boys and a girl. As there are two heroes and a heroine, it appears a triangular love story but it is not really a triangle love. It appears friends sacrificing their love for each other but really no one sacrifices the love. Like this the film had a typical movement.

Tailor-made flick for Srikanth

ksrAfter playing a performance-oriented film like 'Mantra', Charmme returned to form and started getting opportunities. Once again she returned to her normal glamorous characters with oomph. However, the directors are a little cautious in penning her role and ensure that it too had some scope for performance instead of remaining a glam doll just to shake legs with the hero in a couple of duets. This is the third film for Charmme with Srikanth after 'Neeke Manasichanu and Michael Madana Kamaraju'. For Surya Teja this is the second film with the same combination of hero and heroine.

'Gajini' storyline narrated in a different passion

nmtThough Manoj entered the films long ago, he could not achieve the necessary break through. Though he had an excellent diction and acting capabilities, the audiences failed to receive him in the absence of a gripping subject. Once he went to his father Mohanbabu and came out in open that he had agreed and acted in two films after his father okayed it but they did not do well. This time, he told him that he brought a very good subject and a debutant director, who narrated it and impressed his father. This time, Manoj's judgment proved right and the film with a concept of 'amnesia' on the lines of 'Gajini' did well and the film came out excellently.

kblPros and cons of teenage love

With the success of 'Happy Days' almost all the heroes of the film got opportunities to play solo heroes. But, it is a different case for Varun Sandesh. He got the chance to play in a big banner of Dil Raju and he utilised it very cautiously and established himself with commitment. Moreover, Srikanth Addala, who made his debut as director also worked with the same commitment (kasi) to prove himself and the end result is a memorable love story. Moreover, the director gave a different twist in the climax against the expectations of those who are watching the film.

rainbowRainbow with No Colors

After the stupendous success of 'Happy Days' the heroes in that film got opportunities in other films. While Varun Sandesh got a chance to play in 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam', Nikhil got chances in two films, 'Ankit, Pallavi and Friends' and 'Yuvatha'. The other hero Rahul got a chance in 'Rainbow' directed and produced by VN Aditya. Incidentally, Aditya was not a very successful director he failed to get any opportunities from producers, he himself took up the film production on his own.

chrChintakayala Ravi is just average

Chintakayala Ravi .. Software Engineer is just an average movie with Venkatesth as the only hope for its fate. There is not enough comedy compared to any of the previous Venkatesh's movies but there are some good scenes in first half where Venky uses his typical comic expressions. All these will be forgotten by the end of the movie as the second half gets really boring and routine some times.

Most of the dialogs/comedy apply to the NRI's who are software engineers and living in the US.

Gopichand excels again in action-packed drama

SouryamOn the lines of Teja and Rasool, cinematographer Siva too tried his hand in direction and like almost all the other technicians who turned directors achieved a hit in their first venture, Siva too brought out a commercial hit with Gopichand as hero for 'Souryam'. With penning a story that suits the body language of an action hero, the director made good use of the hero's image and proved that it is really a tailor-made subject for him. Moreover, he chose to use a hit pair in the lead and roped in Anushka, who in the combination of Gopichand gave a hit like 'Lakshyam' earlier.

mallepuvvuMallepuvvu – Just OK

Director V Samudra's latest film Mallepuvvu raised the expectations as the in form Bhumika is playing the title role. All her earlier films in which she played title roles were big hits. But the director could not encash on the popularity and successful track record of Bhumika and the film ends up as a half-baked and hotch-potch attempt. There is no fragrance whatsoever in this Mallepuvvu.

rakshaDilemma between belief and superstition

When we talk of horror films, any film lover would immediately remember Ramsay Brothers. They are really experts in making horror films. There are films which really made the audiences frightened at least for a few seconds in certain scenes. Though Ram Gopal Varma also had a passion to do horror films, he could not do so like his predecessors. Very recently, he brought out a film in Hindi called 'Phoonk'. He boasted that he would present a few lakhs if any one dares to watch the film alone without getting frightened. But in reality it was proved that it is not so horrifying film.

gundejallumandi1.jpgA film that disappointed Udaykiran again

Most of the directors had a strong belief that bringing out a love subject is very easy. Many love stories came on the Telugu screen. With a little twist in the storyline, Madan tried to bring out a movie with Udaykiran, probably he continued to believe that the latter is still carrying the lover boy image. But the director lost grip on the story several times. Though he prepared the storyline, but could not prepare the script after unveiling the suspense on the hero for the heroine. He meandered in different ways and somehow finished the film.

Mirroring the mindset of BPO Employees callcenter

Different films have come on the Telugu screen to portray the mindset and lifestyle of the present generation youth. At the same time, love, romance, pub culture, night life in the city were also portrayed in various ways in Telugu films. With several multi-national companies coming up with call centres in various metro cities, it has become very easy to get a job in these organisations, if the youth had fluency in English.
