Tollywood has been slow this year until now with only a couple of movies that made a impression at the box-office. If we look deep we see only Arundathi and Kick. There are three movies that we can count on this July. Magadheera ofcourse, Oye and Mallanna.

Magadheera under Rajamouli direction has very high expections compared to any other Tollywood movies in the recent times. Not just for the young cast but also for higer production values and a different kind of story line makes it more interesting. Half of the story takes place 400 years back. Allu Arvind says that this is one of the highest budget and highest graphics movies in Telugu Cinema. Keeravani composed the music. Magadheera releases on July 22nd.

Oye starring Siddhartha and Shamili is going to hit screens in July 3rd. This is a love story and the songs are already a big hit. Shamili (yes the baby in Maniratnam's Anjali) acts opposite Siddharth for the first time. Siddhu also sang a song in this movie (Oye Oye). Directed by Anand Raja and produced by Danayya, Oye has a tag line 'his first love called him Oye'. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is simple superb. Oye and Povaodhe Prema are our picks.

Mallanna a social movie that is made in both Tamil and Telugu languages and will be released sometime in July. Vikram and Shreya are acting in the main roles. Vikram is playing a CID officer and also women. These are just the two roles in his eight getups. This is also a very high budget movie. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music and the got a good response. DSP says that Mallanna is close to a Hollywood film.

We will have to wait and see how these movies will impress the audience.
