Srisri aka Srirangam Srinivasa Rao is a famous revolutionary Telugu poet and lyricist. Born on 30th April, 1910 he has taken his heavenly abode on 15th of June 1983. He was hailed from a traditional Brahmin family from Visakhapatnam. Srisri was famous as Maha Kavi (Great poet). He brought a revolutionary change in the world of Telugu literature with his Maha Prasthanam (Great Journey) with his anthology of poems.

SriSri has contributed his services to tollywood as a lyricist for about 42films from a span of 30years from 1952 to 1982. His song “Telugu Veera Levara” in film “Alluri Sitarama Raju” got the National award. His another song “Nenu Saitham” in the film “Rudraveena” was a hit wherein Megastar Chiranjeevi has performed for the song and afterwards this song was used in the Prajarajyam Party led by Megastar Chiranjeevi in the recent Assembly elections.

He was conferred the Raja-Lakshmi award for the year 1979 by Rajalakshmi foundation Ace director K.Balachander made a film “Akali Rajyam” based on his works with Kamal Hassan and Sridevi in the lead.
