Telugu Cinema Star Night 'Spandana' was celebrated in a grand style in Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad on November 7th 2009. Almost all stars from Telugu Cinema attened the function. The only few that are missing the event were Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu etc.

Coming to the event and the programs, singing and dancing is not nothing new and also comedy skits by comedians is also not new but skits by some of the popular stars is something that we have never seen. There are few skits by Mohan Babu - Jayasudha team, Srihari with Comedians, Jr NTR - Rajiv Kanakala, Krishnam Raju-Prabha performance.

Coming to the most interesting programs of the night, the Star Night started with a musical program by singers which is obviously slow. The introduction song has all the artists on the stage and trying to sing along with the theme song. It was good to see so many artists on the stage at the same time.

The Good:

The star night got life with Devi Sri Prasad. DSP invited Suhasini, Shreya, Mamtha Mohan Das, Siddarth, Genelia on the stage to sing and dance along with him. Suhasini sang Excuse Me Mr Mallanna and Shreya danced at the end of the song. Mamtha Mohan Das sang Rakhee, Aakalestha songs. Siddhu sang Apudo Ipudo and Genelia danced with him.
Allu Arjun joined DSP for a couple of minutes for the latest song in Arya2. Arjun did a few steps to entertain the audience.

The next interesting program was Jr NTR's dialogs from Yama Donga. Rajiv Kanakala did Mohan Babu's role. The mic failed when NTR has started his lengthy dialog delivery. So he had to start it again after fixing the mic. But was at his best as usual to deliver the dialogs after that.

Most of the other programs were dances by different artists. Varun Sandesh, Priyamani danced for Em Maye Chesavo Song, Shreya danced for Alegra Alegra Song, Raja for Gundello Gutaru Moginchave, Rajashekar, Nani, Tanish, Kaveri Jha Dance etc. Ofcourse the highlight is Lux Papa song by Balakrishna and Sangeetha.

The Bad:

Mohan Babu, Jayasudha, Roja Skit - Written by Dasari, and directed by Raghavendra Rao
The skit has nothing except for praising Mohan Babu and his talent. Mohan Babu and Jayasudha did a part from Sivaranjini dialogs. The tag Written by Dasari and directed by Raghavendra Rao is a little unnecessary.

The Bad part of the star night is the hosting. It is understood that they din't want regular hosts as it was annoying at the south scope awards but a host like Jhansi or Suma would do good instead of the slow and boring words from Dasari Narayana Rao.

Skit by Bramhananadam and Suneel did not meet their standards in the movies.
