TANA was held in Chicago this year at Rosemont Center. This review is based on one day that is 3rd of July. According to their advertisement stars like Jr NTR, Anushka, Colors Swathi etc. were supposed to be at the event. The biggest celebrity at the event was Murali Mohan and the remaining were only small comedians. Even the skit they played was just average. Apart from the stars the other highlight on the 3rd is MAA TV Super Singers competition. Due to the bad organization by TANA the star singers from India could perform only for a short period of time.

Many people came from around the US just for the MAA TV Super singers competition. The finals are supposed to be conducted on TANA stage but due to lack of enough time each singer performed only for few minutes as they came all the way from India just for this. The TANA should have considered giving time to these star singers.

Events before 6:00 pm were skits and programs played by NRI's and their kids. Most of them were not very well planned and seemed pretty immature for TANA stage. It was a little relief after 6:00 PM as they got lot better. The TANA committee should have reduced the local programs and given enough time for Maa TV Super singers. Indo-American Super Singer competition was a real pity as they forced the last 3 finalists to sing in a hurry for just a minute each without any background music. The announcement of the winner was in a hurry too. The second runner up did not even know why his name was called. He was confused if he was the winner or runner.

Mano, Chandrabose, Venkanna tried their best to entertain the audience but even they could not get enough time.

The 4th of July might have been better with SP Balasubramanyam on the stage and Mano, Sunitha singing some songs. There were also news that it has become a little political on the 4th but I personally did not witness it.

On the whole TANA 2009 in Chicago is average with no big stars and immature organization starting from entrance tickets to the food.
