Another teenage love on Telugu screen

Ravibabu had a penchant to bring out love stories in different angle. Take 'Allari' for instance. He mixes innocence with love and bring out nice subject. He got a very good producer like Ramoji Rao and after a long gap, Usha Kiron Movies agreed to produce a film as its 81st production and it materialised as 'Nachavule'. The director's job has become further challenging as all the characters in the film were played by debutants. But the film was pleasantly presented on the screen.

Lava Kumar is the son of a couple who got married through love. His father is from north Andhra while his mother is from north India. Lav has a younger brother when he was eight-year-old. The latter has a penchant to steal small articles and sell it away for chocolates and ice creams. Like many teenage boys, Lav wants to befriend with girls and tries his best but fails to succeed. With his friend Sreenu's help, he manages to get in touch with Anu. Though she did not care him at first, in a typical situation, Lav helps her by saving her father when he suffers a stroke. As she says that she owed him a lot, he pleads with her to be his girl friend. Anu invites Lav to their house and introduces him to her father. Lav's innocence makes Anu closer to him and the former tries to prove to everyone around him that he too had a girlfriend. Once, Lav shoots Anu when she was angry with his mobile phone and accidentally Anu kisses him and he shoots it too unknowingly. Anu changes his style and makes him attractive. It makes every girl get attracted towards Lav. Though Anu falls in love with Lav, but the latter has no such idea. Once Lav's brother steals his mobile and sells it off to a mobile shop. The purchaser of the mobile sends the kissing scene in the mobile, through MMS and it gets circulated. What were the repercussions? Did the heroine win back the love of the hero? Or hates him for circulating the kiss scene through MMS? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.

PERFORMANCE:

Though a novice, the hero gave an adequate performance. The director was able to extract good feelings and expressions from him. He is good as a lover boy, a teenage lover and an innocent youth. He also showed good body language and did well in scenes related to family and sentiment. His performance is adequate for a new comer. The heroine is also good looking and suited best as an intelligent and responsible girl. Besides sporting a family girl look, she also appeared in modern dresses in some scenes and caught the eye of the youth. Her performance in the title song is memorable. All the other artistes, including the villain, hero's parents, heroine's father and a man in the neighbourhood of the heroine did complete justice to their respective roles. The most surprising point to note here is that all the artistes including character artistes are debutants.

TECHNICAL:

Technically speaking, it is a complete Ravibabu's film in the first half and the Ushakiron Movies' film in the second half. Music by Sekhar Chandra is good in parts. A couple of songs are good to listen, but he could further improve his performance in re-recording. Camera by Sudhakar Reddy is okay. Especially, he was able to capture the chase scenes that come repeatedly in the first half well. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh proved his seniority. The director proved his calibre with his excellent screenplay. The situational comedy was perfectly presented on the screen by the director. Full marks to his direction in the first half. However, the second half is a bit nagging as the story completely lost the tempo with serious episodes. The climax should have been cut short a little further.

ANALYSIS:

Those who want entertainment could watch the first half of the film and return. Those who have interest in watching a serious love subject should wait for the second half. Many characters that appear on the screen could be compared to real life. The film is near to nativity to certain extent. Though the director ignored to justify certain scenes, they could be ignored as the film is a different love story. Even the choreography of first song and the title song is worth watching.
