kuberuluDon't look for logic to watch the film

The combination of Sivaji and Srinivasa Reddy had two hits to its credit like 'Adirindayya Chandram and Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila'. In fact, Sivaji who had no notable hits to his credit but his alliance with the director made him to earn an image of a comedy hero. Ali and Krishna Bhagawan who also got promotion as heroes now joined hands with this combination to bring out yet another entertainer. The storyline, plot and the movement are not very new to the Telugu audiences. But the director made efforts to serve an old wine in a new bottle. The film earned a divided talk after the first show. While some say that it is an okay film, a few others say it has nothing much to talk about.

Yarlgadda Siva Ram @ Junior YSR (Sivaji) had some property in his village Devarapalli and he stays with his mother and his childhood friend Chittibabu. Siva had a dream to become the panchayat president and serve the people of his village. In order to contest elections and for campaign he sells off his entire property but loses the elections. On the other hand, he gets duped by a trickster, who promises to build houses at cheaper rates for the villagers and Siva stands surety for them. On learning that they were duped, the villagers question Siva and the panchayat president (Chalapati Rao) gives a judgment that Siva should pay back the money to the people and as a surety, his mother was forced to stay in the village. In order to earn money Siva and Chittibabu reach Hyderabad. There they meet Rambabu @ Rambo (Krishna Bhagawan) who, they believe, was in Dubai. He tells them that he could not go to Dubai as the agent cheated him. On the other side, a mafia gang from Mumbai hatches a plan and robs the Nizam Jewellery worth Rs 500 crore. However, one of the gang members, keeps the jewellery box in a dilapidated car shed and takes the snaps with a cell phone and leaves it in Vivekananda Colony. Before he gets encountered, he reveals the secret to his brother and the mafia don. So the don starts searching for the mobile phone. In the process, he kidnaps the brother of Dr Kalpana (Farjana) and tells her to locate the cell phone in the colony. However, Kalpana could not secure the mobile. The friends trio also start search for the jewellery as it would be very easy to become rich overnight. They take the help of a swamy (LB Sriram), who swindles Rs 50,000 from them and escapes. But Siva, Chitti and Rambo realize that Kalpana had flashback and promises her to extend help. Somehow they manage to find the mobile and in the climax, the trio not only saves Kalpana's brother, but also get a reward from the government for handing over the jewellery. The film ends on a happy note with Siva marrying Kalpana and Chitti gets united with Mutyalu.

PLUS:

Basically the film is an entertainer and for a comedy film one should not look for logic. The director was able to script a good screenplay for the film. Though the movement of the film had several ups and downs with fast movement at one time and tardy progress at times. As a whole the film is just okay, though not the film is too entertaining. The comedy by Telangana Sakuntala and MS Narayana was hilarious. Narsing Yadav too provided good comic relief. LB Sriram's comedy however turned boring. Songs in the film are okay and the speciality is that the popular vamp of yesteryears Jyothi Lakshmi shook her legs for an item number along with a new face Taslima Sheik. Use of popular songs during re-recording for the comedy scenes involving Sakuntala and MS Narayana, Ali and Kausha is quite appropriate.

MINUS:

Comedy villainy by Dr Siva Prasad is quite boring. When the director to keep a sub-title in the bottom of the screen like 'Mumbai', the villain and his group should speak in Hindi but use of Telugu language is inappropriate. The camera movement during the picturisation of an item number on Kausha is heavy and confusing. The storyline is very old and the comedy track on Jeeva, Apoorva, Hema and Suman Setty is boring. It is not known why the director kept the canteens and the fight between both of them is a mystery. The comic relief which was supposed be provided boomeranged miserably. Picturisation of duets is good.

kuberuluREMARKS:

If the audiences go the film to watch an entertainer without major expectations, the film is okay. No doubt the film is passable but not that great to talk about. The film is just beyond the logic and has nothing much. As the director said earlier, it is a screenplay based movie and the director strived hard to do justice to an old subject. The production values of Godavari Talkies are adequate. Though Farjana had a little lengthy role, Kausha was roped in for a couple of songs. Can watch once.
