kingKing makes the audience popper:

Srinu Vytla is a hat trick director and his films like Dhee and Ready have done exceedingly well at the box office. He now comes up with a new film titled King and the cast Yuva Samrat, King Nagarjuna in the lead and the glamorous hero-ine Trisha has been paired up opposite him. The film has all the mass elements but the slow pace of narration and too many twists and turns affect the overall impact of the movie.

STORY LINE

The story is about a royal family settled in Coimbatore. King (Nagarjuna) loses his father at a young age and the responsibility of upholding the name of the royal family now rests on King. King takes good care of the family. King is also very fond of his younger brother and goes out of his way to pamper him and give him everything he wants. Kings uncles played by Jayaprakash Reddy, Sayaji Shinde, and Krishna Bhagawan are all crooks and have an evil bent of mind. Their target is to usurp the property of King. So when King goes on a business trip to north India, he is killed. The identity of the killer is not known. The fact that King is dead is also not revealed to his mother and relatives back home. We understand that King has gone missing. Enter as Bottu Seenu (Nagarjuna) a new local goonda in Hyderabad. Bottu Seenu encroaches upon the area of another local leader Gnaneshwar (Sri Hari). But the two later reach an understanding and decide to share the money on a percentage basis. Bottu Seenu falls in love with Sravani (Trisha). But Trisha is looking for a guy who is soft natured and mild. Bottu Seenu then takes on the identity of Sharat, a software engineer (Sunil). The confusion of identities Bottu seenu and Sharat flummoxes both Gnaneshwar and Sravani. Sravani incidentally is the sister of Gnaneshwar. Brahmanandm as a music director also adds to the drama. Jayaprakash Reddy then takes all of them to Coimbatore with the idea of installing Bottu Seenu in the plaice of King and thereby usurp the property of King. After a lot of drama, King finally traces the person who tried to kill him. But the idenity of the person gives him a big shock. The rest of the story is supense and must be watched on the screen.

PERFORMANCE

Nagarjuna plays three characters and all three are vastly different from each other. Nagarjuna comes out on top in the three roles. For all Nagarjuna fans, King is like watching three films of Nagarjuna. Trisha looks good in her role and she sizzles without exposing too much. Sri Hari shows his versatality. He also manages to raise laughter with his penchant for painting. Brahmanandam gives an average performance in his role of a copycat music director. Mamatha Mohandas sizzles in her brief role. The rest of the actors like Jayaprakash Reddy, Sayaji Shinde, Sudha, Geetha, Ajay, Supreet, Dharmavarapu and others are okay. Music is just right and a couple of songs are good. The group song featuring Nagarjuna and eight heroines is one of the highlights of the film.

kingTECHNICAL

Director Sreenu Vytla shows his talent again in this film by his gripping screen-play.After hits of Dhee and ready this film King will receed some what in comedy punches.Devisriprasad music is good and his background score is well.Cinematographer Prasad murella done his job good especially in the scenes of King's Soul(Atma) transfers into Bottu sreenu's body.B.V.S Ravi Dialogues should have better and his punch dialogues are not up to the mark and not to the standard of Dhee and Ready.M.R.Varma's editing is sharp.Choreography is adequate.

REMARKS

The film runs very slowly and the slow pace and too many characters confuse the audience to a considerable extent. The film however has everything for everyone, drama, action, fights, romance, comedy etc. King can be worth watched once.
