Poor screenplay and immature direction

heroIn order to bring out a good film, first the director should prepare a story which is different from routine. It should come from the thoughts but it should not be a bit and piece from an old flick and mere joining of different scenes from different films would not be useful. Sudhakar Naidu @ GV, who is so far happy as a character artiste, playing roles with negative shades, turned a director. From all the experience he had from getting thrashed by the heroes, he prepared a story.

Manyam Ramesh, brother-in-law of Nagababu, came forward to produce the film. In order to limit the budget, they choose Nithin, who had no notable hits and who has not much demand as their hero, with Bhavana playing the female lead. Finally, the film once again proved dud due the iron leg of Nithin.

The film starts with a scene shot at the ACB headquarters. A sincere officer, who gets retired from service after doing a fruitful service, goes to Maa TV and gives an interview where he threatens the 'big' leaders that he had all the evidences to prove them corrupt and warns them to surrender the corrupt wealth to the government. As a result he gets killed by one local mafia leader Premkumar @ Prem, with the help of a hired killer. Accidentally, a software engineer Krishnaveni @ Krishna shoots the murder with her cell phone camera and sends it as MMS to Nagendra. But the secret leaks and all her colleagues get killed by goons. Nagendra Naidu is the police commissioner and Radhakrishna @ Radha is his son. While Nagendra plans to Radha a police officer, his wife Sarala wants to see him as a hero. Radha enjoys his life with the pampering of his mother. In order to save Krishna, Nagendra and his batchmate Bhavana Nair keep her in the Police Academy. Incidentally, Radha also joins the Police Academy to get trained in various events like fights, horse-riding etc., to become a hero at a latter date. At the police academy Krishna loses her heart to Radha. Prem uses his influence at high-level and get Krishna branded as a dreaded Maoist to trace her whereabouts. Fearing the safety of Krishna, Nagendra and his men kidnap her from Police Academy and keep Krishna in a secluded place. Noticing the spark in Radha, Bhavana takes him to Krishna to convince her to give the witness in court. Did Radha succeeds in convincing Krishna to give witness? What happened to the love between Radha and Krishna? Did Radha prove himself as the worthy son of Nagendra? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.

PERFORMANCE:

heroNo doubt, Nithin proved himself as a good performer by working hard in action scenes and in dances. He shook his legs with élan in a couple of songs. The director did his best to mould his character in a stylistic manner and the action scenes and dances were rich and were shot in a stylish way. Bhavana is cute. With not really resorting to exposure of her beauties, she attracted the audiences with her chivalrous performance and at times she went overboard in her performance. The classical dance shot on her did not suit her very aptly though she gave her best. Of course, classical dance is an art form which could not be learnt in a day or two. Nagendrababu is okay as hero's father, while Ramyakrishna made her appearance in a couple of scenes and is at her best. Tanu Roy sizzled in an item number while Kota Srinivasa Rao's villainy appears very routine. Brahmanandam once again enthralled the audiences with his funny comedy, while Ali, Tirupati Prakash, Satyam Rajesh and other tried their best to provide entertainment, though not succeeded in their attempts.

TECHNICAL:

The storyline chosen by the director is okay, but it could be dismissed in one or two scenes. However, the director tried to stretch it and provide entertainment for about two and a quarter hour. The entire first half was devoted to entertainment and funny episodes shot in police academy. Once again, the director trekked the same path of his predecessors by portraying the police as fools and useless fellows, which should have been avoided. As far as camera, Ramprasad tried his best to bring out the film. Action scenes were shot well. However, there is too much of wire works in the action scenes in order to give them a stylish look. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is okay. Music by Manisharma is good in parts. Production values in the film are okay.

ANALYSIS:

The hardcore fans of action films could enjoy the film to certain extent, but the action scenes in the film too were limited. The poor movement of the film and not so gripping screenplay and haphazard movement of scenes, once again gave a shock to Nithin who kept high hopes on the success of the film. Direction is like a penance (tapassu) and everyone could not become a director by a whimper and it needs a lot of mental stress and sheer hard work to mould the ideas on the celluloid is a must. This is visibly lacking in the film. Cannot be recommended as a must watch film but just an okay film as it has commercial and romantic elements.
