uday kiranYet another failure from Udaykiran

Udaykiran, who gained a lover boy image, gave a couple of hits, and turned a failure after that. He was off the screen for some time and made his reentry into the Tollywood. However, luck did not favour him and he continued to give successive flops one after the other. He kept high hopes on his recent release 'Gunde Jhallumandi' and even postponed the dubbing activity of 'Eka'love'yudu'. After that film bumped at Box Office, he concentrated on the latter which had hit the screen on November 7. The unimpressive narration, poor directorial ability and the movement of story beyond logic once again turned out to be another failure in Udaykiran's account.

Karthik (Udaykiran) after getting shouts from his father (Chalapati Rao) decides to end life only to be saved by Bhakta (Antony). Bhakta strikes a deal with Karthik that the latter should die whenever Bhakta demands and in return, he agrees to pay as much money as he wants. Karthik agrees to the deal as it would help his family despite his death. With Rs 10 lakh given by Bhakta, Karthik repays all the debts and arranges a decent living for his family. Later, he tells his family that he is going to Mumbai, as a prelude to his US trip and leaves the home. He lands in Ooty and stays with his friends (Chitram Sreenu and Vijay Sai). Karthik loses his heart to Indu (Kruthi), but when the latter proposes him, Karthik refuses it as he doesn't want to spoil the life of Indu, because his death is not in his hands. Afterwards, he changes his mind and decides to live for his love. He explains his love to Bhakta and tells him that he wants to live now and has no intention to die. This irks Bhakta and his men start a hunt for Karthik. In order to settle the deal immediately, Karthik goes straight to Bhakta and tells him not to disturb him as he loved a girl and he wants to live. Why Bhakta wants to kill Karthik? Is really Bhakta was so cruel? What happened to the love between Karthik and Indu? Who is Indu? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.

PERFORMANCE:

Udaykiran is okay in the role till he maintained the lover boy kind of image. Once he turns a mass hero with action scenes, the face of the film changed. Udaykiran's attempt to prove himself a mass hero by involving himself in action scenes turned a bane for his career. Heroine Kruthi neither has any glamour, nor could show any facial expressions. She failed to make use of a couple opportunities in proving her performance. However, she showed a little ease in dances. The villain-turned-character artiste Antony also failed to show any expressions in his face though he had a negative shade in his character. Chitram Sreenu and Vijay Sai are okay in their roles.

Uday KiranTECHNICAL:

The director failed to narrate the story in a proper manner. Many of the scenes were lifts from earlier films. The screenplay had a lot of loopholes and logic is missing in many of the scenes. Cinematographer Ramesh Krishna was another major minus for the film. Despite the fact that the film was shot in Ooty, he failed to capture any of the beautiful locales in his camera. Music by Anil Krishna was not so great, and the dialogues by Rakhee Radhakrishna are so so.

ANALYSIS:

Medikonda Muralikrishna, who gave a big hit like 'Narasimha Naidu' failed to bring out another film on par with that movie. He tried to promote a new director as he believed that he would do the film with a commitment. So he chose KRK, a protégé of director Raviraja Pinisetty. But the immaturity of the director could be seen in every frame of the movie. A passable movie and not so great. As a whole it is definitely not a must watch movie.
