Baladoor Review

Just OK

Director Udayshankar comes up with his new film Baladoor. The film produced by Suresh Babu on the Suresh Productions banner boast of good production values but the story is a bit to heavy on sentiment and for a jovial hero like Ravi Teja, it does not work out fully.

The story is about a Good Samaritan Krishna, his family and his brother Chandramohan and his son Chanti (Ravi Teja). Krishna drives way Pradeep Rawat from their village some twenty years back after Rawat rapes a young laborer working on their site.
Rawat develops a grudge on Krishna and his family. Krishna is now a big builder in the city and he takes up some prestigious projects like Jana Niwas to provided affordable housing for the poor. Pradeep Rawat cannot bear to see the growth of Krishna ad he hatches one conspiracy after other to try and pull Krishna down.

Chanti is a happy go lucky guy and he bashes up goons at regular intervals in order to save the innocents. His father Chandramohan misunderstands him for a irresponsible person. But Krishna back Chanti to the hilt and he in turn loves his Pedananna more than even his own father.
Chanti is driven away from home for fighting with some goons and the engagement of Chanti's sister is cancelled. The onus is now on Chanti to prove himself and also save his Pedananna and his cousins and other family members from the gangster Pradeep Rawat. How Chanti achieves this forms the basis for the rest of the story and must be watched on the screen.

Performance:
Krishna plays his role of head of the family with ease and conviction. He does a neat job and is definitely a big plus for the film. Ravi Teja is young and energetic as usual. However his role in the second half is weighed down by too many responsibilities.
Anushka looks beautiful and her hot performance will definitely help her bag many more offers. Brahmanadam and Suman Sheety raise some laughter with their comedy in the car garage.  The coconut breaking comedy is different from what we see in many films.
Sunil, Raja Ravichandra, Sameer, Chandramohan, Subbaraju, LB Sriram, Dr. Sivprasad and others do a fairly good job. The music is pleasant and the songs have also been picturized very well.

The negative aspects of the film are too much sentiment and too many songs. The songs in particular affect the movement of the film in the second half. The film may not please Ravi Teja's fans completely.

Cast: Raviteja, Anushka, Krishna, Chandramohan, Sunil, LB Sriram, Pradeep Rawat, Subbaraju, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Ahuti Prasad, Sivaprasad, Sameer, Raja Ravindra, Suman Shetty, Mallikarjuna Rao, Raviprakash, Gundu Hanumanta Rao, Kadambari Kiran, Tirupati Prakash, Sumitra, Bhargavi and others
