16 daysA movie with complete Tamil scent

Generally films in Tamil language will have such continuous chases, hero running in streets to escape from villains and the hero in a deglamorous roles. Despite all this, the producers and director of the film, who planned to cash in on the glamour and image of heroine Charmme, started giving a lot of hype to the film by claiming that Charmme did a fantastic role in the film, by mimicking famous people and all that giving a wrong picture to the audiences that it is also a lady-oriented film like 'Mantra'. But, the fact is that Charmme has very little role in the film and the entire story moves around the hero, who is also a novice.

Angel's (Charmme) job is to put the promotional tags to the handles of different flats to campaign their product. She is a happy-go-lucky girl, who doesn't want to spend her earnings on routine chores. She used to make use of the flats whose occupants were away from city for the day. Gutti Gurnadham (Aravind) reaches city in search of a job. He stays in a flat belonging to his friend who owes money to several people. Despite warning Gurnadham continue to stay in the flat and one of moneylenders whisk him away believing he is the person who owed the money.

Yadagiri has an opponent, who kills his son. Yadagiri plans to take revenge within 16 days but the latter foils all his attempts. At this juncture, Gurnatham goes a little overboard saying a strong opponent had to be dealt with a weak personality. This prompts Yadagiri to warn Gurunatham to complete his vow of killing his opponent's son or face death. After this warning, Gurunatham meets Angel and after a few turn of events he also marries her in dramatic circumstances. Did Gurnatham succeeded in fulfilling Yadagiri's vow? What and how he killed Yadagiri's opponent's son? Did he teach a lesson to Yadagiri and his opponent had to be seen on the screen.

16daysPERFORMANCE:

Charmme sizzled with her beauty in the first song. She is also romantic in the first night scene. During the conversation with the hero, she mimics the voices of some popular film heroes, which are just okay. But for these scenes, she has not a very big role to play. The movement of the film though the director thinks was coupled with suspense, there is not much suspense in it. But for Charmme's glamour there is absolutely no plus point in the movie and that is also very negligible. Newcomer Aravind is okay for a Tamil or Malayalam film but not suitable for Telugu films. Such kind of roles and performance might not be liked by the Telugu audiences. Kota Srinivasa Rao was in his usual best and it is an extension of many of such roles he played earlier and there is nothing new.

TECHNICAL:

Camera work by Sukumar is average but there are a lot of chasing scenes. Music by Dharan is average and none of the songs are melodious with lots of English tunes etc. Action by Anil Arasu is confusing. Choreography of the first song is sizzling. Dialogues by Nivas have lacked punch and appeared a true translation of Tamil film. REMARKS: Though it was rumoured that the film is a heroine-centric film to cash in on Charmme's image, there is no truth in it. The film is not a must watch and can be ignored as there is nothing special. The running of the film is embarrassing and the film may not go well in B, C centres. However, in cities it may run for a couple of weeks which is not very sure too. Charmme's hopes on the film were lost as the presentation of the film on the screen is not worth watching.
