Malayali Kutty Priyamani missed the Best Actress award in Kerala State Film awards for year 2008 because of her dubbing.  Someone else has lended their voice and this costed her the award. Everybody has accepted that Priyamani will get this award for her mind-blowing performance in film “Thirakkatha” directed by Renjith. But the award was bagged by other actress Priyanka for the film “Vilapangalkkapuram”.

Priyamani who is at present in shooting of a telugu picture “Pravarakyudu” said that the dubbing of her own voice is not the main criteria in the state awards and it is a main norm for National awards. She further added, “I would be dubbing for the same Malayali film ‘Thirakkatha” since it is being sent for National awards soon.
